Have I ever told you that I suffer from OCP?
Have I ever told you that I suffer from OCP?
Obsessive.
Compulsive.
Planning.
It's a gift and a curse.
So now, as promised, I will tell you about the latest plan I have concocted.
As I said yesterday, Nathan {and Beau} and I are beginning the adoption process. We have amazing, incredible, generous, wonderful friends that are paying for the majority of our costs, but we need to come up with $3,000+ to pay for the Home Study {$2,000 + the cost of preparing our home for the inspection} and travel expenses to pick up our baby!
I have been toying with the idea of doing some type of fundraiser to help us move forward, and Wednesday I finally devised a plan {see... OCP}.
I am so super excited to announce that the week of
June 28th through July 2nd
will be
Adoption Raffle Week
at Confessions of a Paper Freak.
I sent out an email to some friends and Sponsors on Wednesday afternoon, asking for donations that I could raffle off on my blog in order to raise the funds for our adoption costs.
I am blown away and humbled by their generous responses!
I'm still trying to figure out whether we will have one huge prize basket, or perhaps break it down into a few different themed baskets {that's how much cool stuff I am getting}.
Here are some of shops that have offered items so far:
Vinyl by Design {Nancy is hard at work on her website, so check back soon for a link}
and of course there will be some items from Much Ado About You
So far I have over $700 worth of prizes!!! Can you believe it?
If you have an item that you would like to donate,
please contact me for details.
I will continue to update you on all the fantastic donations as they come in.
I hope you all have a super terrific weekend!
It's a long one for us... no school today or Monday thanks to budget cuts.

Yay!!! This is going to be one of the very bestest things you've ever done in your life! I'm so excited that the ball is really rolling now! I don't have anything to donate, but I can't wait to purchase!
ReplyDeleteOh Emmy I am SO excited for the 3 of you :) What a wonderful thing. As you know I went down that same IVF road and it certainly was a roller coaster! Good luck to you and I can't wait to see the finished goods we can purchase :)
ReplyDeleteI just saw that the comment doesn't post my name above.
